Personnel Committee

The Committee is responsible for overseeing the administration of the staff.  It is responsible "to provide for the administration of church, including employment of non-ordained staff, with concern for equal employment opportunity and the annual review of the adequacy of compensation for all staff,"  (G-10.0102-m).  Although not specifically stated in the Book of Order, these responsibilities extend only to non-ordained staff.

 

Hourly positions such as snow removal, yard work, and baby-sitting fall within the responsibilities and budgets of their respective committees.  However, the Personnel Committee must approve compensation levels to insure equity and compliance with wage and hour regulations.

Specific Responsibilities:

1.                   Recruit, select, and hire individuals for all salaried positions.

 

2.                   The Committee is responsible for developing policies relating to working hours, salaries, working conditions and benefits.

 

3.                   Develop and maintain job descriptions for all salaried positions including but not limited to Director of Church Operations, Director of Youth Ministry, Director of Children’s Ministries, Intern, Secretary, Custodian, Organist, and Director of Music.

 

4.                   Review adequacy of job performances and compensation for all staff on an annual basis.
