All Officers, past, present, and future. Please plan to attend
On January 18th in our very own Westminster Hall, we will be hosting the annual Officer Enrichment day for our Presbytery. In the past, this event has been called Elder Training or Elder and Deacon Orientation and probably some other names. But the event is both informative and enjoyable for the fellowship and exchange of ideas time that happens.
Some of the topics the planning group will touch on are: Ruling Eldership–Just the Basics; Per Capita/Covenant Commitment; Book of Order Trivia (with prizes); Evangelism–Great Ideas or Best Practices
We also will have an opportunity to explore one of the confessions in our Book of Confessions to (re)acquaint ourselves with the foundational doctrine that we are a body of Christians based on an historical set of confessions that guide our faith as followers of Christ. We’ve chosen to pay some attention to The Barmen Declaration from 1934, a call to resistance against the theological claims of the Nazi state
We hope you’ll attend!
